This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and what rights you have over it.
What information we collect
Information you give us
When you submit our estimate request form, we collect the fields you complete:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Company name, if you provide one
- Project address
- Project type, budget range and desired start date
- Any project details you write in the message field
If you email or call us directly, we receive whatever information you choose to share.
Information collected automatically
When you submit the form, our system also records:
- Your IP address and browser user-agent string, recorded with the submission to help identify spam and abuse
- The date and time of the submission
Separately, when you browse the site, Google Analytics collects usage data as described below. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive information through this website — no Social Security numbers, financial account details, or payment card numbers. If a project requires that kind of information, we will arrange a secure method separately.
How we use your information
- To respond to your request. Your form submission is emailed to us so we can contact you about your project, and an automatic confirmation is emailed back to the address you provided.
- To prepare estimates and communicate with you about work you have asked us about.
- To prevent abuse. IP address and user-agent are used to detect spam and automated submissions.
- To understand how the site is used, in aggregate, so we can improve it.
We do not use your information to send marketing newsletters, and we do not add you to a mailing list from a form submission.
Cookies and Google Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-H0DNEQ57NG) to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information including:
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Approximate geographic location, derived from IP address
- Device type, browser and operating system
- How you arrived at the site, such as a search engine or a link
Google processes this data on our behalf. Google's own handling of the data is governed by its privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data entirely by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
Google Fonts
Our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. This means your browser requests files from Google's servers, which involves transmitting your IP address to Google.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where your browser sends it. Because browser Do Not Track headers are not interpreted consistently across the industry, we do not rely on them.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have never done so.
We use the following service providers, who process data only to provide their service to us:

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, such as in response to a subpoena or court order, or where necessary to protect our legal rights or someone's safety.
We are a family-owned contractor. Your project details are not a product and are not shared with lead-generation services, marketing companies, or other contractors.
How long we keep it
Estimate requests are retained in our email and in the storage described above for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain records of projects and inquiries. As a contractor we have legitimate reasons to keep records of work discussed and performed, including warranty and legal obligations.
Google Analytics data is retained according to the retention period configured in our Analytics account.
If you would like your inquiry deleted, contact us and we will delete it unless we are required to keep it.
Your privacy rights in California
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA). Regardless of whether we currently meet the law's applicability thresholds, we extend these rights to anyone who asks:
- Right to know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we shared it with.
- Right to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to exceptions such as records we must keep for legal or warranty purposes.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the right stands.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information through this website.
- Right to non-discrimination. We will not treat you differently, or refuse to work with you, for exercising any of these rights.
How to make a request
Email info@howardconstructioninc.com or call (707) 578-6565. Tell us which right you are exercising. We will need to verify your identity, generally by confirming details that match what we already hold, and we will respond within 45 days. An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf with written permission.
Children's privacy
This website is intended for homeowners and property owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are transmitted encrypted. Our service providers maintain their own security measures. That said, no method of transmitting or storing data over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to other sites
This site links to external resources such as the California Contractors State License Board, Google, Houzz and the Better Business Bureau. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and this policy does not apply to them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
